After Google+ ‘s data breach earlier this week, Google has now prompted several significant changes to give users more control over their data and permissions they accord to third-party apps.
These changes have been summarized under Project Strobe which aims to limit third-party access. For example, users do not approve all requested permissions at once anymore by clicking the “allow”-button. Instead, this function is now split over several individual permissions to prevent malicious apps from sneaking in.
