28 September 2018
Last year a 16-year-old boy from Melbourne, Australia, showed the world that even giant companies like Apple are not secure against cyber attacks.
The now 19-year-old who pleaded guilty to breaking into Apple’s internal system and stealing 90 GB of sensitive data has now officially been given eight months probation. As he cooperated very well and showed remorse he will not go to prison.
Between June 2015 and April 2017 the high school student connected with Apple’s internal system several times by exploiting a VPN and sending a malicious script to bypass firewalls. According to The Hacker News he hacked the system because he was a huge fan of the company.
